Nine songs inspired by Lake Maracaibo, El Ávila in Caracas, the Pacific coast, and the years in between. Planeta 9 is the first Von Atria record: guitars, synthesizers and drum machines played and recorded almost entirely by one person, with Ernesto Lotitto on electric piano performance and Eduardo Atria on two amazing guitar solos. Recorded in Caracas and Vancouver, mixed in Miami by Adrian Morales-Demori. The goal was never a polished performance — it was an honest one.

About
A band of stories
Von Atria is the new motto of Ricard Adrianza — guitarist, producer, sound disgner and multi-instrumentalist, born and raised in Maracaibo, shaped by the Catatumbo Lightning, sounded and played loud under the Ávila mountain of Caracas. Before Von Atria there was Sr. Funky in Festival Nuevas Bandas 1999, then Los Automáticos, the alternative rock band Ricard fronted through the release of 11:11 in 2008. Moving to Vancouver in the years that followed changed how he worked: less band, more home studio, songs collected as audio notes over time rather than written for a deadline. Von Atria started in 2017 as that project's next form: guitars, synthesizers and drum machines, mostly played, recorded and produced by one person, with old collaborators brought back in when a song called for them. The songs still start with a guitar and a story: Lake Maracaibo, the Pacific coast, a place half-remembered. The rest — the synthesizers, the arrangements, the production — exists to serve that story, not the other way around.
